Dear Senator Boxer,
As a representative of the North Coast Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS), I am writing this letter of support for "Resources 2000." CNPS is a nonprofit organization of nearly 10,000 amateurs and professionals dedicated to the preservation of California's diverse flora. CNPS conducts a variety of educational programs and conservation efforts all focused on long-term protection and preservation of native flora in its natural habitat. The North Coast Chapter represents 250 members in Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity and western Siskiyou Counties.
We appreciate your concern for the environment, and encourage your efforts to increase funds for conservation of America's natural resources. In addition, we also support increased funding for habitat acquisition and conservation through the Lands Legacy Initiative, proposed by President Clinton.
Please continue to propose and support legislation that will acquire and conserve habitat. Thank you for your time.
